Hi all,
I would like to get some initial suggestion from those preparing for the SCJP. I am from Oracle bakground. But I did the J2EE development 2 years back. After that I am totally out of Java. Now I feel I have to do Java since lately there is an expectation for Oracle people to know Java. I would want to know how to exactly go about the preparation while in job which is not related to Java and clear out the Java certification. I am planning to study from the K&B study guide.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi
Well! Just start my reading the book and try to understand the various code in the book to further understand the concepts. I would also suggest trying to come up with scenario codes of ur own so that u can explain the concepts u learn with ur own codes and not get used to codes from various books. Try as much as possible to come to the ranch @ least once a day and try to reply to some problems, it helps a lot. Visit the www.javaranch.com/mock.jsp for the list of mock sites so as to try out ur progress. Others include www.javacertificate.com, this site even allows u to study on the various topics of the exam. Just take ur time in studying for the exam, dont rush thinking 'cause u have had j2ee experience u can pass this exam, it usually surprises people. Well i hope i have helped a little.. Take care and enjoy ur preparation..
Saheed.
