I am going through question on assertion from Dan Chisholm (http://www.danchisholm.net/july21/mybook/chapter23/assertions1ans.html).

I find some of the options testing when and where to use assertions ?.
(E.g. Used in default case of if, some flow-variant control...).

I know the context, but is it the way the questions come in the real exam ?

Yes,

The exam is supposed to test your knoweldge about the appropriate and the inappropriate uses of assertions, regardless of the legal/illegal issues.

What book are you using for your study?

If you do things well, do them better. Be daring, be first, be just. SCJP 98.4%
