Obviously I will go for the beta (if and only if I am sure I can pass) as it is cheaper and the technology is newer.

Yes, as said, a pass is a pass, who cares?

In fact, I have scheduled for the exam on 20 Jan. I have prepared for this exam for around 2 months already, I am confident that I can pass with an acceptable score.

Nich ,

you are really a good man & it is also sure that confidence come from experience .

Can you tell me , how should I prepare for beta .

my level is : some programming experience of j2se 1.4 & preparing for scjp1.4 ( have read 2 chapter from K&B) , no experience in j2se1.5

please tell me the process & provide URL for resources .

You could first download JDK 1.5. Follow the examples/articles/tutorials provided by SUN to play around with it.

Afterwards, based on the objectives listed, read JLS and write codes to verify them. As Bert and Mark said, you need to write a lot of codes to make sure you are in the correct direction.

I only used the book Core Java 7th edition, and JLS for my preparation.

Thanks Nick ,

I have installed JDK .

I also have downloaded the JLS ( But one confusion in this , this JLS second edition is for Java 1.5.0 or for Java 1.4.- or JLS don't have to do with Java Versions )

I also have downloaded Java API for 1.5.0 .

This all are really useful but is there any book available for J2SE 1.5.0 ( ofcourse for beta no book will be there )

thank you very much for your help .
