Hello,

I am aiming to take my SCJP exam in April.

I understand the current exam is "Sun Certified Programmer for Java 2 Platform 1.4".

I have been revising from "Sun Certified Programmer & Developer for Java 2 Study Guide (Exams 310-035 & 310-027)", by Kathy Bates and Bert bates, published by Osborne press, 2003, ISBN 0-07-222684-6.

Can someone tell me if this book is appropriate for the current exam?

I ask since the book seems to indicate ALL the questions are multiple choice, yet this web site http://training.sun.com/GB/catalog/courses/GB-CX-310-035.html , indicates...

"Exam type: Multiple choice and short answer"

...all comments welcome.

Kind regards,

Simon.

all questions are multiple choice and that's indeed a very good book.

I guess they kept the option for other answer styles open when writing the exam description but decided not to make use of that option.

I agree with Jeroen. I guess they kept their options open while creating the exam, but decided not to use it later, because I too did not get any such kind of "short answer" questions.

Please refer to my post.

I referred to the same book and its more than enough for passing the exam.

Sorry. Profile updated.

If I'd had more time, I would have written a shorter letter. -T.S. Eliot such a short, tiny ad:
