Dear all,

I am writing here because I could not find any useful information anywhere. I have scheduled the exam on 12-Feb on Saturday. When I called the examination site I was talled that they do not work Saturdays although the prometric site let me schedule the exam... The exam has been re-scheduled by the examination center on 15-Feb.

Does anyone know if is it possible to take the exam on that day? Will it be valid?

I contacted prometric, several examination sites in Poland, Sun Poland, I wrote to Evelyn Cartagena and to sunbeta@thomson.com (with failure error "this thomson mailbox does not exists"). As the exam date approaches I need to know whether I can take or cancel... How is it possible that the site refuses to deliver the exam scheduled by prometric...?

Thank You all for Your help!

Best regards,

Marcin Mieszek

Hi Marcin,

How about you try this e-mail address: SunBeta@Prometric.com?

Prometric can make errors.
Unless the exam has expired I see no reason why Sun wouldn't accept the results.

The problem is that the session ends on 13-Feb, 2 days before scheduled date. That is why I seek for some official information about it. I wrote to sunbeta@prometric.com, home they will know anything.

Thank You for Your posts,

Marcin

The auto-reply message I got from sunbeta@prometric.com is:

Thank you for contacting Thomson Prometric. Please note the following important information:

- Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition 5.0 Beta exam:
Beta Dates: Janaury 13 February 13, 2005
Registration Start Date: January 3, 2005
(...)
If your note is inquiring about the SCJP 5.0 Beta exam, we will send you a reply within 5 business days.

So again, no chance to find out on time...

Or how about you reschedule to other center?

The first prometric center which I'd scheduled for this beta changed its address at the prometeric website without informing me. And luckily I checked the website regularly just to play safe. As a result, I rescheduled to another center.

The response from SunBeta was pretty fast for my case, within 1 business day.

Unfortunately, I cannot take it 11-Feb and on 12-Feb it was the only center available. But they refused to provide the test that day and rescheduled it to 15-Feb.

If it is not possible, I will cancell the exam.

Marcin

As I said before, always do NOT schedule the exam at the day that near the end of beta period, because whenever there are any problems, you have no ways to solve it, within such a short period.

Anyway, it is definitely not possible for you to take exam on days after US time 13 Feb 2005, and thus, you might try to reschedule it on 11 Feb 2005.

In such case, I guess you have to cancel the exam.
