I have decided to extend the beta worldwide! The beta will now end on
March 6 (final date).
This will give you time to prepare for the exam and Pass
I am still working with Prometric to have all their worldwide
testing centers notified in a timely manner. Please be patient, while this
happens, since this announcement has to be communicated to all Prometric
centers in all Time Zones.
If you used a voucher to schedule your exam, and if you wish to move your test date to beyond February 13, you will need to contact Prometric to receive a new voucher. If that is the case, please follow these steps:
- Contact Prometric to cancel your existing appointment
- Send an email to <
[email protected]>, requesting a new
voucher
- Contact Prometric to schedule your new test date.
If you paid by credit card, you only need to contact Prometric to request a new testing date.

Why pay $49 for the
SCJP 5.0 beta certification exam?
1. Evidence indicates that charging a nominal fee for the beta exam
narrows the pool of test takers to serious candidates. This provides
Sun with a better sample population from which we can make better
decisions such as passing scores, identifying unfair test questions to
delete, etc.
2. The beta exam price is 67% off the US list price of $150.
Furthermore, the beta price is set to only cover delivery costs; we are
not profitting by charging for the beta.
3. Beta test takers do receive value. Passing the exam provides you
with full Sun certification status, and you will receive a certification
kit, which includes evidence that you passed the exam, the right to use
the
Java logo, etc.
