yes, if you need to choose more than one the number is always given.
If there's no number given, assume one and only one correct answer is to be selected.

Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three.
Do not count to two except that thou then proceeds to three.
Four is right out.
When the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, thou shallst lob thy Holy Handgranade towards thine enemies who, being naughty in My Sight, shall snuff it.
