Hi,

So I have been itching to take one of Marcus Green's mock exams.

I looked here: http://www.javaranch.com/mock.jsp

and clicked on the link for "Marcus Green's Mock Exam 1" and it took me here: http://www.jchq.net/mockexams/exam1.htm

The page says "This exam is based on the objectives of the JDK 1.2 exam.
You can see set of 60 questions for the JDK1.4 exam at JDK1.4 Exam"

So I followed the link to the "JDK1.4 Exam", which took me here: http://www.jchq.net/phezam/login.php

I did the exam...but I want to now...is this REALLY one of Marcus's exams?

I ask since the Javaranch write up says his exams are similar in difficulty to the real thing...but I feel that I am not sure if the description is including this 1.4 exam...

Please help...I want to know if this mock is meaningful or not?

Cheers,

Si.

Yes, its all my own work and on the basis of the feedback I have been getting over the last year or so I believe it is a good match with the difficulty of the real thing.

What was your impression of the exam?

By the way you can gradually work your way through the entire database (if you can wait 420 days) at

http://www.examulator.com/phezam/question.php

Which shows one question per day from the database

Marcus

Hey Marcus,

Ah super...thanks for the swift response.

Looking back at my post you must think I am bonkers or at the very least a conspiracy theorist.

I did noted that the 1.4 exam was hosted on the same web wite...so I don't know what I was on about really.

I think I just want someone to say...the score you get on that 1.4 mock is what you'll get on the day.

I liked the exam.

I think it is a tad easier than the mock that comes with the CD in the K&B book...or maybe I am just learning. :-)

The topics were nicely varied and the unusual class names make the brain work.

Are you from Worcester by the way? I am...and I kept noticing the "references".

Anywise, I am **totally** grateful that you took the time and energy over the years to make such a resource available for the good of so many others.

Watch this space for my grade on April 12th...if you don't see a post it means I have failed and have gone into hiding.

Cheers dude,

Si.

I'd like to blow my own trumpet, but Kathy & Bert were part of the team behind the real exam, so you might assume the real thing to be very slightly harder than mine. Yup, Ombersley 7 miles north of Worcester to be precise.

The reason I have slightly wierd names in some of my code is that if anyone ever "lifts" them and tries to pass it off as their own, it will be very, very obvious where it came from (cunning eh?)

If you don't pass when you take the real thing please send me an email directly to me. Good luck
