Hi,

I am preparing to sit the SCJP 1.4 exam in a few days and using the following books to study:

A Programmers Guide to Java Certification 2nd edition
Java Programmer Certification Mock Exam - Dan Chisholm
Java 2 Sun Certified Programmer & Developer

Can anyone please provide details of the actual exam eg. level of difficulty, time etc and any opinions on how well the above books prepare u for the exam ?

thanks,

J.C

I followed the K&B book only. That is more than enough if you already know Java to some extent. Otherwise u need a intro to Java. Core Java2 will do that. And do all the exercises and review questions given in K&B. The real exam will have the same level of complexity as that of K&B review questions. Dont forget to take the Dan's Questions and K&B Mock exam on the CD.I got the same marks in the real exam that I got in K&B Mock. All the best.

Hi
You would need to read the the book by Khalid Mughal and/or Kathy and Bert
thoroughly. These books shall help you prepare well. And the level of difficulty is similar to the K&B mock exam and the Enthuware.com JQPlus mock exams.

Hi

Dont worry about the time at all. Time given would be more than enough ( given that you dont waste too much time on very few questions !! even then the time should be enough)

As far as prep. is concerned , K & B is the best bet. Go through it thoroughly , take the mock exams in it and that should do. All the best.
