i failed jdk 1.5

You mean you failed in SCJP Tiger beta exam or live exam?

can any one help me i don't know i have to write exam for 1.4 or 1.5

You must start in both ways. First, read K&B (if you have) for SCJP 1.4. After receiving your score report, check which parts you did worst, and then look for improvement.

If you think those areas are too difficult, then simply take SCJP 1.4, otherwise, study those topics that you are not strong in, and then go for SCJP Tiger again.

and what about head frist for 1.5 when i can have it

HF Java is NOT for SCJP. You might need to wait for K&B 2nd edition.

Study harder and try again when you're confident.
Use that free voucher you got for the second sitting

And write off the experience as gaining insight into your weak areas and practice at the actual exam.

Hey, don't worry.

I am just a beta sample point too. But I learned a lot
during my two-week preparation(I took the beta on the last
available date), and I am happy that all the knowledge I learned
is mine to keep.

Besides, the experience of taking a 5+ hour exam is something, right?

So cheer up and do some more study, we will get it, with just
a few months' delay.
