Hello,

I took my SCJP last June (2004) and am now seeking to give the SCBCD. I have the SCJP certificate with me, letter issued by Sun, etc. but I am unable to see the candidate ID anywhere in the package Sun sent me upon my certification.

Since I gave my SCJP in a country different from where I currently am located it is a concern as to how I may be able to retrieve my candidate ID for further certifications.

Any help/feedback will be highly appreciated.

Regards,
Saket

Hi Saket,

Do you still have the score report for SCJP with you? You should have received one immediately after the exam, at the Prometric center. You can find the Candidate ID (a.k.a Prometric ID or Testing ID) on the score report.

Hi Joyce,

I left it in the US before leaving the country. I am not sure if I can get the score sheet easily now, since its been over a year ago.

I find it very surprising that the candidate ID is not mentioned anywhere in the Sun package we receive. Perhaps it is so because the candidate ID is pertaining to Prometric (or any other) testing center only.

Oh well!

Did you register the SCJP exam online at Prometric website? If so, you should have an existing set of user ID and password to login to https://www.register.prometric.com/Login.asp. Once login, click on "Update Personal Information" on the left side menu, you'll see the "Testing ID" (a.k.a Candidate ID or Prometric ID).

Talk about drawing a blank everywhere I go, Joyce. I'd registered by phone then.

I do appreciate your prompt feedback and willingness to help. Will update on how things work.

Another place where you can find your Prometric ID is in the CertManager database, used mainly for tracking certification kits. Do you have an existing set of username and password for that database?

Perhaps you could get in touch with Prometric via e-mail... write them and ask for your candidate number [give them all the necessary personal data of course]. You can find an email on the Prometric official site.

Hope this helps.

Mihai.
