Hi there,
I was preparing for scjp1.4 for past 1 month...today when i went to set a exam date ,i found a new certification scjp5.0...So i wanted to know at this point, what would be a better option..to go on with 1.4 or learn 5.0 & get that certification...
Also how different & difficult is 1.5??

Thanks in advance,
ba

5.0 is very different to 1.4 and is full of errors and the modelled preconceptions of claimed professionals who apparantly can reiterate what the marketing literature says.

You make some very bold statements Tony. Have you taken the released version of this exam, and can you explain your views in more detail?

Yes, and "I'd have to check the agreement with Sun" respectively.
If the contract does not object to stating the truth, then I may decide to elaborate.

I would say, the exam that you took is just a beta exam, isnt it? For the live exam, it will fix most of these errors, if you have provided some comments for those "problematic" questions.

Tony,

I guess you have taken SCJP 5.0 Beta and not satisfied with proof-reading of those question. That's what Beta exam is for. I believe the production SCJP 5.0 is much better.

MZ

Tony, can you confirm that it was the beta (test) version of the exam you were commenting on. This is a very important detail, as the purpose of a beta test is to identify errors. Anyone using a beta product should expect to find errors (otherwise it would be considerd release product).

Can you be more specific about what you mean by

"the modelled preconceptions of claimed professionals who apparantly can reiterate what the marketing literature says."

What sort of preconceptions and what marketing literature. I am very interested in your ideas as I have been tracking the Certifified Java Programmers exam for many years and it has a very good reputation.
