i want to know which version is currently happening for the exam.coz in the sun site i cud find scjp1.4 and after that directly scjp5.0 version.any replies cud be of great help.

There are two versions of the exam currently available. Take your pick depending on your level of Java knowledge. If you already know about the new Java 5.0 features then SCJP 5.0 perhaps the better choice.

I will second that opinion. Also because industry is shifting towards J2SE 5 and SCJP Tiger covers lots of new topics that will help you become aa better programmer.
