Your removing posts about brain dumps yet there are about a thousand new pointless posts advertising some lab spread all over the forum recently. Nothing seems to be said about that though... Must be another forum moderator trying push their businesses.

That lab that you are refering to... I am assuming that it is in the Job forum? You do know that there is a promotion going on in that forum right? and you could actually win something?

I'll admit that a promotion generally gets tons of "nothing seems to be said" posts, but hey, this is what you get when the odds of winning is based on the number of posts... ... it should be over by the end of the week, but in the future, check the top of the main forum page for promotion announcements, so that you can stay away from them.


Anyway, braindumps are a violation of the Sun copyright. And it is also considered as cheating. Either of which is important enough for our attention. Or maybe you think that policing the policy on screen names is more important?

In the long run a web site that encourages, condones or even passively ignores brain dumps will cease to exist. Big corporations will use the law to have them shut down. Believe me they really will do this, the net is not anonymous. JavaRanch represents the finest, freeist, smartest and best help in your studies and it is very unwise to do anything that might endanger this resource.

Another factor is that I have been tracking this subject for ten years and often "brain dumps" are really just that, full of whatever rubbish was in the brain of a person who has a mind very addled with the pressure of doing a real exam. The topics, questions supposed answers are very frequently incorrect and misleading.

Also it was a nice explanation given by Marcus Green. Well appreciable and agreeable.

Barry, if i m not mistaken, can i ask you a question? While going through the recent 2,3 posts, the fellow ranchers have posted the questions without their knowledge it seems. thats what i could infer.

How exactly we can find out whether its a real dump question or not? Because the person who is preparing for the exams and interested to give a solution, would definitely tend to work on it and post it if they need some clarifications on the question. Am i right?

You can inquire about the real source of the questions you are given, and not take "don't know" as an answer. You can research into the issue of braindumps and do the right thing by avoiding them.

By the way my motivation is not to "keep the JavaRanch's pride and honour", as you put it.

The staff at JavaRanch wish to support and motivate those SCJP candidates that choose to study and work hard and pass the SCJP without resorting to the use of braindumps or otherwise getting access to the real exam questions.

I was intended to say that not all researches would succeed. That too interms of real dumps we are not much experienced, as what and how you are.
