Comments on the forums should be made in the JavaRanch forum. I am moving this topic there for any further discussion.

Without any reasons behind why you find these forums useless I'm afraid your post is not very helpful. Perhaps you could explain what you were expecting and what you hoped to find?

For those who are looking for real questions, dumps, and quick answers, I dare say this site is totally useless because JavaRanch does not provide these stuffs.

For those who are looking for discussions, learn new technologies and brainstorming for ideas on certain areas, exam related or not, JavaRanch does very useful.

So, which kind of person you are?

That's an interesting notion! I'm not even sure wether I've ever asked a question at JavaRanch to which I expected a simple, direct, concrete answer.
I've certainly learned a lot in the discussions here, though!

Doch! Chris the Baron did answer me the noble way of heating up a Fleischkse without any delay.

Oh finally this sounds fair.

I'd say JavaRanch provides those answers just as well as any other discussion forum does. Google often leads to the 'ranch when searching for Java's exception messages, for example.

And yes, the best part of JavaRanch, in my opinion, is exactly the ability to discuss with other members. That's not a given in some other forums, unfortunately (besides, why would I want to chat with someone named "im5up3Rkewl"...).

You can check this through his profile (section mentioning last 50 posts).
He wrote this in JSP forum.

This guy's post indicator say "Posts: 3", whereas last 50 messages shows only 1 message.
How is this possible?

Some folks go to some forums and they really like them. Then they go to a different forum where things are .... different .... and they don't like it because it isn't like the other.

Oh well.

I like our community. A lot. Just the way it is. And I'm okay with some people not liking it and those folks choosing to set up camp somewhere else - where it is a better fit for them.

From reading this thread, I get the impression that our community is more articulate than the community this person is used to.

Or he is disappointed, because he didn't receive the flaming he was used to from other forums...
