Need help for Collections

hi,
I need help in understanding following concept:
1)ArrayList,Vector and LinkedList implement the List interface, however the time to retrieve the first and last element in fast in LinkedList as compared to ArrayList and Vector. The time to get nth element is slow in LinkedList. i need to undertand how the LinkedList, ArrayList and Vector classes have been implmented. Can anybody suggest any internet page. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Abhijit,
You can look at the actual source code for the collections. Go to the directory where you have installed the j2sdk and open src.zip and you will see all the classes along with the source code.
