Hi Katherine Sierra & Bert Bates

We know you guys(Katherine Sierra & Bert Bates) are working very hard for SCJP 1.5 book & we appreciate your dedication. But can you please give us some estimate dates. Around one month back I read on this forum that book is getting its final touch & it will be released on Nov 2nd. I waited for this date but still we don't have any confirmed information. Can you please give us any estimate dates when this book is getting release. Because many of us are delaying our test only because of this book.

I can tell you this, this is the last week for the technical review, so after this week all the chapters should be at the publisher's. So my guess is a month at most. But I am guessing.

And OH, Even if you had to wait another year. It is definitely worth that wait too.

Unfortunately I will need to cancel my order on Amazon and look for other resources, because I need to get my SCJP in early December. I was really looking forward to the book...

Thanks for replying. I agree, its worth waiting for this book but we have some deadlines to do this certification. That's why, i asked to Katherine Sierra & Bert Bates for estimated dates. So that we can plan our certification. If it is going to take long time then we can try getting material from net.

I also postponed the date for SCJP 1.5 Certification test because of this book. Looking forward to its release.

Amazon.com says that my order for the book is estimated to be shipped on Dec 07.

I agree with you guys, I have got my exam at the end of November too, can't really wait for the book. I would have bought it ages ago if it's released. But to be fair, I guess they won't and shouldn't break their reputation to release something which is too scrapy...

I think looking at other sources is the best option, I don't think they can release it before the end of December by the look of it...

For me, I'm sun certified java programmer 1.4, I wanted to take the 1.5 exam as a way to tam the new features, but I work as a full time Java programmer, so I couldn't wait that long, a lot of books covered the new areas, and I'm using the new features in a daily basis, so I quit thinking about the exam, I participated in many other exams, and I may think about the 1.6 exam when it's released (only if there is available book at time).
