Hi,
I have developed a chat applet . It is working fine. Can u give me a few tips how i can improve its performace in terms of speed?
i Need a few questions to be answered.
1. Which JRE version is the best for the clients? I heard about HostSpot VM.. Will it be helpful?
2. I noticed that The chat application is slower on Non NT machines.
Is there any justification for this? Do u have any documents which say that NT is the desired platform.
3. Is there any more configuration to be done that will help improve speed of startup and execution?
Im counting on u. Please help me out
regards
Sajee

Sajee,
It is hard to say -- it would depend on where your hotspots are. In general though, I like both Larman's book and Bulka's on optimization. (Yea, I know Bulka has server-side in the title, but there are good techniques that can be applied on the client-side too)
