I created a BaseApplet that extends the Applet and is defined as abstract. BaseApplet overrides the getParameter() method and has few other methods as well.
All my child applets extend the BaseApplet.
Say for For eg.
abstract public class BaseApplet extends Applet
{
public String getParameter(String paramName)
{
/*
my code
*/
return super.getParameter(paramName)
}
}
public class ChildApplet extends BaseApplet
{
// code for my child applet
}
When I try loading ChildApplet, the applet window is blank with the following message in the status bar : "Start:Applet not initialized".
Can anyone please help me out or let me know what the problem is.
Thanks
S.Menon.

Hi,
I don't think your problem is because you are subclassing Applet with BaseApplet. Just make sure that both classes are inside your jar file or at least in the same directory if you are using class files.

Manfred.
