Hi friends,

My advice is to buy a new book, you can get it in all Book Stores.

That will help to learn better than the soft copy, you can mark the important points, doubts, include small notes in the Book (Hard Copy) will be very helpful at the time of exam. It will save a lot of time.

Hope you will.

Bestofluck.

Don't share Softcopy

Hello Smriti and Hanumadeepak,

I'm wearing two hats at once while I make this post. First, as a moderator, I must tell you not to promote piracy of copyrighted material here on JavaRanch (or anywhere else for that matter). Second, as an author I must ask you not to steal or share copyrighted material. When an author writes a book it usually takes 9 to 12 months of hard work, and typically the author's main form of payment comes through royalties which occur when copies of the book are sold. When you share soft copies, the author (and the publisher) get no compensation

Thanks,

Bert

Did you realize that the authors of this book regularly visit this forum? Is it worth the risk that they can take legal action against you?

It is worth to buy that book. It's also very cheaper in India when compare to US. I bought K&B book for preparing SCJP and couple of weeks back I even bought the following books
1. Head First Java
2. Head First Servlets & JSP
3. Head First Design pattern
4. Head First EJB.

Particularly I love reading the first two books. Thanks Bert & Kathy

Hi Bert,
I can understand the agony you must be going through. I am a big fan of you, Kathy Sierra and the Head First Series. Unfortunately, sharing pirated copies of Copyrighted Material is becomming very common in India.
I live in Bangalore,India where your books are available in almost all the bookshops. Some of them even offer a flat 20% discount on all the books.
By the way, you mentioned in the HF Servlets& JSP Book, that you were planning to launch HF UML & Patterns soon. Did you drop that plan eventually? Its disappointing for us after having set some expectations about that launch.
However I have the HF Design Patterns with me.

Dear All,

I totally support Srinivasa Raghavan here and all the prople with his opinion. There are certain books, which you HAVE to own. The K&B is one such. My sincere and humble opinion is to have a own copy. It's fun to read Java in that way.

Head first series is also cool. Explaining technology in cool way...

Taking this opportunity to thank the authors.

Cheers,
Ram.
