It's gratifying to hear that the new K&B book is available through lots of bookstores, but we're really curious to know whether anyone has received the book from Amazon yet!?

Hi Bert,

yes, I did I ordered january 15th at amazon.at (--> austria), they sent it out three days later, and I got it delivered at 20th.

Anyway, I have to apologize that I didn't work with it yet ... I'm too busy... but this weekend, hopefully...

I haven't ordered it from Amazon yet since I don't know what I'll get. If you hit Search Inside, what's shown is the old book (eventhough the new book is shown in the initial image). There's references throughout the page to version 1.4. I sent an email to Amazon recently, asking them to modify their page for this book to clarify if it's for v1.4 or v5, but they haven't done anything.

I ordered two copies of the book on January 10. They haven't shipped yet. The support people said that their estimate is January 31, so I'm still waiting.

I ordered it on Amazon.ca on Dec 30,2005. The book got shipped on Jan 8, 2006 and I received it on Jan 13.

I ordered this book over a week ago from the standard amazon.com but have not recieved it yet. However, my invoice says that the expected delivery date is Feb 4, so I'm waiting until then before I email them. Also, my order included another textbook, so it is possible that is holding it up as well.

pre ordered in november. still no clue. hopefull feb 1st is when i will get it as per the latest notification from customer support. amazon sucks at backoffice work. they keep changing status to ships in 24 hrs every alternate week.

It seems Amazon may finally be shipping. I ordered my copy on January 19th and it finally shipped on the 29th. It's a good thing I ordered Head First Servlets and JSP at the same time so that I've had something to read while I wait for the K&B SCJP5 book to be shipped.

After 20 days of waiting, Amazon finally shipped today the two copies I ordered on January 10 . Should be arriving at my house tomorrow.
