If a final variable must be assigned when it is declared, or in the constructor, why doesn't the following code work?

...just realised its because I'm using a static final variable. These ones must be initialised when they are declared otherwise you cannot use them.

If you just use a final variable (e.g. final int FINAL_INT ; ) you can leave it's initialisation until the constructor.

Cool ! That's right.

We have to be carefull with this type of question.

For sure the exam will put a hard logic behind the Constructor to confuse us.

But if we realise it at a first look, for sure we can jump to Compilation Fails option.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
