Hi All,

I am planning to take the Java certification exam provided by Sun. I have 2 years of work experience in java project and I have not done any sun certification in past, so I am planning to for SCJP. But I am not sure which certification exam I should take under SCJP. So -

1. Can some one please suggest which exam will be good and advantages for me?
a. Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition 5.0 (CX-310-055) - New!
b. Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition 1.4 (CX-310-035)

2. Can some one please explain the exact difference between above two?

I know this question is little bit off the track question for this forum. But I couldnt find the right forum for it.

Please advice. Thanks!!!

Hi Dipak,

Welcome to JavaRanch!

2. Can some one please explain the exact difference between above two?

A lot of new stuffs were added in SCJP 1.5. Bert summarized the differences in this thread.
