During the time i spent preparing for SCJP 5 i wrote down some question that i thought were tricky. The number of questions that i managed to accumulate spiralled out of control and then i thought hmm... why not make a mock test out of it. The test contains 72 questions ( DUH ! ) and some bonus generics questions. Just click on the FREE button and download the file. I would love to have feedback on how you find this test to be. Feel free to post threads here at javaranch about the questions in the mock. If you think something in the mock exam would qualify as errata please post that here too i will update the zip file and re upload it. The exam also has some questions that try to simulate what the drag and drop questions might look like. Thanks to Bert and Kathy for their book and all the fellow ranchers for their support.

Hi John, thanks for this! This should help out everyone quite a bit.
I was thinking of trawling thru the posts and picking up ones that are worth remembering/understanding and putting them into a doc. Admittedly that's a lot of work and I'm trying to see if someone else has already done that and I can simply piggyback.
Looks like you've done it.
If you've edited them so that they fit into the test format, do you mind posting all the posts, including those that didn't make the cut into your test?
Thanks,
Sashi

There are only a few that didnt make it. I ll add them later into the extra questions category. They are all jumbled up somewhere.

Hey John !

Just curious, is it OK, if I convert it to Magnet Mocker format and share for everyone (I did not yet have a chance to look what format is your test) ?

Some tests (mostly converted by me) you can find on Magnet Mocker home page (in my signature).

regards,
MZ

John,

Are these questions that you wrote yourself, or are they tricky questions you found in other mock exams and just used those questions. I am just a little confused. I think it is great if you wrote them up yourself. But, if they came from other sources, we might hvae copyright issues with them.

Thanks

Mark

None of the questions were copied from any other source. They were all written by me. I have personally compiled and run every bit of code that you can find on the mock. I have also written a few lines near every answer to justify the reason for choosing those answers.

Sorry about the wording. I meant to say that this mock was written by me based on tricky experiences that i have had.

About converting it to other formats and distributing it please feel free to do so. All these questions are copylefted ( ooo i love that word ). However i would request you to add a link that points to the java ranch scjp forum in case they have any queries regarding the questions or answers so that i can update the link in my signature with the errata every now and then.

Thank you.
