Hi
I like to connect to a web-site from an applet. If I can do this I would be able to surf on another site from within my applet or a java swing application.
The method showDocument instructs rhe browser to display a particular URL. Can I use this method or other methods to connect to a web-site and surf it ?
Is this possible ?
Thanks
Ruilin

No you can't. Unless you create a signed applet, the only website the applet will be able to connect to is the same one the applet was downloaded from.
It also sounds like you expect to be able to easily create an applet that's has all the power of a complete web browser application. You may find that that's going to require a lot of work.

Tim,
Thanks for your very helpful comments.
Could you elaborate on how to develop an applet to be able to browser a purticular web-site. Does it only need to do is to sign the applet ? How to sign this kind of applet ?
Thanks again
Ruilin
