I've just started learning JAVA (actually right now that's on hold) and I'm working on this new project. I've got one problem though - I need to upload a file from a client's web browser to the web server. This file will be submitted using a HTML form and <input type="file"> a few times daily so I don't want to have to browse for the file everytime. I read up on the RFC1867 doc(www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1867.html) that details the use of <input type="file"> - it talked about using the "value" attribute to define a default file but it seems that neither Netscape or IE implements that attribute. All I want to do is set a default value for that input field - not upload the file automatically. Is there some way to do this using JAVA - an applet, jsp page? I would think it would be pretty simple but I just don't know JAVA well enough yet to know.
