hi folks!
im developing a web based chat server so i have few questions.
1) in private chat how can i notify the user that message has been received by frame(private chat). any method to blink the frame or any other alternative way?
2)im using internet explorer 5.00.3315.1000. does it support borderlayout for Applet class?

is ur client is an applet. or application..
one solution is to use a dll file using JNI the most perfact way ( like MSN )
but if u dont want to use JNI then go for just
intentiating new instance of the private applet class it will automatically comes on front of all other applications.
one more way is to just send that private message to that perticuler client not other on the same applet window rather intentiating new one.
let me know any help u require about chat..!

client is an applet. here is the scenario: an applet is downloaded on client side n public chat is started on applet. now for private chat(when user clicks on any nick) a frame is opened on both sides n private chat is started. so how to notify user like by blinking the frame or making it appear on top of all the windows?
i don no how to use jni . any help how to implement that?
