I read that java 1.1 only supports 8 bit, u-law, 8000 Hz, one-channel, Sun ".au" files for audio playback. I can't seem to find a conversion program that will convert a wav file to this format so I can use it in my applet. Does anyone know of a good conversion program I can get and use for this? Thanks.

How about sox? http://sox.sourceforge.net/ I've used the older version to do this. The updated version looks even nicer than what I've used.
