ARCHIVE attribute in an applet

What does the �ARCHIVE� attribute in the Applet tag refer to ? How is it useful ?

if your applet classes are in a jar file then you access the applet and point to it through the archive attribute.

you mean the ARCHIVE attribute?
well if you got your applet inside a jar file thats the way to access it and load it in the html page.
if you dont then you dont need to use it
