class CardBoard {
Short story = 5;
CardBoard go(CardBoard cb) {
cb = null;
return cb;
}
public static void main(String[] args) {
CardBoard c1 = new CardBoard();
CardBoard c2 = new CardBoard();
CardBoard c3 = c1.go(c2);
c1 = null;
// do Stuff
} }

How many objects are eligible for GC at // do stuff.

Answer is 2.

My doubt: Arent Short objects from -128 to 127 interned (like String literals) and are never GCed???

5.1.7 Boxing Conversion

If the value p being boxed is true, false, a byte, a char in the range \u0000 to \u007f, or an int or short number between -128 and 127, then let r1 and r2 be the results of any two boxing conversions of p. It is always the case that r1 == r2.

Hi Herb. This question has a mistake. It should read

It's worth checking out the K&B Erratta page. I try to make changes in my book a chapter or so before I read them. If you think you'll remember the incorrect answers on quizzes, then try to avoid those changes until after you've answered all questions in the chapter
