THE SHORT:
I need an applet to open up a HTML page and then handle the POST or GET method of that form.
Is this possible?
THE LONG:
Im trying to get past the applet security of not being able to read local files by opening a HTM form with a "File" input type that would submit the file back to the applet in a GET or POST method. I know how to open a HTM page from the browser but i dont know if its possible to "capture" the output of that form from within the applet.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks
K

SIDENOTE:
I know a signed applet would make this all easier but tell me if im wrong in the assumption that if i use signed applets then every desktop i want to use this applet on will require the change of a policy file and a Key Database.
I want to avoid having user interaction to setup the applets use.

hi
if the page being popped up has nothing much to do with the applet u have (meaning communicating back & forth) then u can do showDocument() and specify target = _new along with the url. that url can be the servlet which displays the form data and to which u'll post the form data...
regards
