Hi,
I started preparing for SCJP 5 from K&B in the month of april. Planning to give the exam in june. i completed 5 chapters till now with second revision including the Tests.
My question is, can we pass SCJP with a good score with just reading, taking sample tests and mocks with out practicing on system? I am just following the K&B and planning to do some mocks before giving the exam. I have not practised even a single program. Is it ok?
Please sugest.

Hi,
Welcome to javaranch....

I recommend coding is very important. Theoretical reading is not sufficient.

Practice and errors you'll get help you to remember what you can and what you can't do.

I started to read K&B in a tube travel to work, but than I realized, that I can't test, that it REALLY doesn't compile:-)

I think that coding is very important. Coding makes the learning to survive for more time.
