Hello folks.
I want to announce the project SwingML.
This is an open source effort available under GPL to create a markup language to render Swing based guis in an a web browser through an Renderer applet. Its goal it is to release the power of Swing by providing an alternative to replace COMPLETELY the use of HTML in the development of web based applications.
The first beta version is available and it can be downloaded at:
http://swingml.sourceforge.net

Very interesting. This reminds me of some of the things that the old Ultra Lightweight Client code from IBM used to do. It's also similar to what Classic Blend does. Handling this as an open-source project is the right way to do it.
