I cannot get the "Rules Roundup Game" applet(?) to open on my browser.
This is also the case with other pages on other sites- although some of them are
HTML, not applets. I have encountered this using other computers with
the XP operating system- because they disenable the Java VM(?). On my computer I have Win98. Have I downloaded from MS some patch that is doing this on my system and if so how do I reverse this. For Example is
there a way to fix this using the Internet Options, pull down tab...
Thanks in advance, jay

Welcome to JavaRanch, Jay!
It may be that your installation of Windows does provide support for Java 1.1 and the Applets that you cannot successfully view were developed for Java 2 (i.e. Java 1.2 or newer). You may want to download and install the Java 2 plug-in for your browser. Take a look at this past conversation for some more information and a link to download the newer plug-in.
Good Luck.

If you are speaking of the current game and not the beta game, note the second "warning" beneath the game.

Open "Tools", "Internet Options", "Advanced", and scroll down to
Java(Sun)
[]Use Java 2 v1.3.1 for < applet >(requires restart)
Make sure that it is unchecked.
