The SCJD development team news:<pre> 1) We officially moved to our new location: http://www.webappcabaret.com/javachina/scjd/index.htm 2) After ~6 months idle time, we started accept new members again. 3) We work on small but real projects. 4) We have requirements. Surprised? The most important requirement: you must be able to read. 5) Go there, and read, please! </pre> Thanks! The SCJD Study Group Development Team [This message has been edited by Roseanne Zhang (edited November 05, 2001).]
Hi Roseanne, I go through the site you asked to visit,as far as I understand its necessary to be a Certified developer to be member of your team.Even knowing this, because I'm not a certified developer, I would like to be your team member.I have good knowledge of java language and attempted for java programmer certification twice and once failed by 3 number and second time by 1 number.I just want to make you sure I have potential but because of lack of guidance and working environment I'm unable to utilize myself.I have good working knowlwdge of java applications using AWT,SWING,JDBC as well as good working knowledge of SERVLETS and HTML.I have also made an online book purchasing system using servlets, jdbc, html with Access Database. It keep track of user sessions and perform all DML operations. Currently I'm working as dev2000 programmer.I have also cleared three papers of OCP(SQL/PLSQL,Develop pl/sql program units,Forms 4.5). Sorry for the long message but I'm really looking for some live project.I hope you would consider me. Thanks.
Thanks for you interest and visiting! However, I don't know where on the site require certified developer to join I might made a mistake, but I guess that was a misunderstanding. We require you are a member of SCJD Study Group. We have over <big>3000</big> members, who are studying hard to pass the exam. http://www.geocities.com/developergrp/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/java-dev-test Why? Because we are SCJD Study Group development team. We are idle for a long time, now we are recovering, still have a lot of work to do to be fully functional. We have another problem, which is webappcabaret.com start to charge. I've not figured out a way to save members' money, and make the team still working. We all work together to make a difference. You need to read a little more closely. It works. We are going to change the rule a little, since webappcabaret started to charge. Just in case some one cannot afford to pay them. It might be a good idea to wait for 2-4 weeks. Since my time is really tight now. Roseanne
When I tried to register on webappcabaret, I always got the following error: ACCESS ERROR! Maximum number of contexts allowed for this account: 1. Please contact the Administrator. Maybe they have already start charging?
I'm confused now Which one did you go when you got your error message? http://www.webappcabaret.com/admin/RegistrationServlet or http://www.webappcabaret.com/javachina/scjd/index.htm The first one is for you to get a site from webappcabaret. The second one is our team home. Our team need to change the rule a little to let member join without his/her own site. However, I've not figured out a way to make the system work, without requiring me to spend a lot of time to urge you to do this/that. Since I don't have that much time. My goal is a minimum managed team. If you have a good idea, please let me know. I need an automated system, and allow user to upload their files without my participation. However, I don't want someone can delete our files/site. I need to talk with webappcabaret to negotiate out a solution. That needs time too. Roseanne
I have a guess, that you probably tried to register a name with webappcabaret, which is in use already. Your Chinese(?) name is really common in the world, IMHO. If I was right, change to another context name.
Hi Roseanne, I found this oppurtunity pretty interesting. Even i am waiting for a good oppurtunity. I have registered myself which asked me my email address and said that i will receive an email. I am eagerly waiting for email. How long will it take as i have yet not received it. Is that all that is required to be done. What is the selection criteria Regards Neha
I've not seen any new registration recently. I might have a bug, since I refactored the site recently. Let me check! The best thing you can do is register an account with www.mycgiserver.com, which is still free, and start your number guess game there. Another suggestion is register an account with www.geocities.com as your website home, and link it to your www.mycgiserver.com for jsp/servlet only. Since www.mycgiserver.com is very very slow. I also need to change the member requirement page and the registration application to reflect the changes I mentioned here. I really need about 48 hours a day to do all of this. Just too busy with everything! Sorry! Roseanne [This message has been edited by Roseanne Zhang (edited December 02, 2001).]
I just fixed our "new member application form". I test it, and registered 2 new fake names . It works. I changed the original webappcabaret.com website requirement to You must have a website which is JSP/Servlet enabled. We still will check the prerequisite before accepting you as a new member. Read please! Thanks! Roseanne The team home url http://www.webappcabaret.com/javachina/scjd/index.htm

I'm a new member. I had three problems following the INSTRUCTION: 1. I can not access the project manager page. 2. I can not change my password. 3. I can not access the page "How to activate my email address with yahoogroups?" Gang
You need login to change your password. Everything is case sensitive, spaces in your name is significant. I just test it, your password is no changed yet. I successfully logged in as you. Have you noticed your name and URL are already on our Member website page. That is all through automated process. Only here, I'm answerING you manually. Yahoogroup stuff you might need to wait, I've problem to access it myself now. Roseanne [This message has been edited by Roseanne Zhang (edited December 04, 2001).]
