browser says "appletclass" not found

hello guys!
i need help in running my applet. the applet runs in appletviewer. the class is public. but when i try to open the applet in a browser, the status bar shows "ChartApplet" (name of my applet) not found. the htm file and the appplet are in the same directory.
please help me fast.

Possibly a browser problem. What browser do you have and are you using a Java plug-in?
