hi,
Netsacpe doesn't use OBJECT tag for applet. it uses EMBED tag for applets which you can explore more at,
Using EMBED, OBJECT TAGS
hope this helps..
also one important point i remember about this EMBED tag functionality,
you can't have a communication b/w applet and the javascript code assigning some ID to the EMBED tag element. meaning, u can't do <EMBED ID="myapplet"...>
then call myapplet.setMyVar("my var value")...u know what mean?
there is NAME attribute in EMBED tag which is equiv to ID attribute in OBJECT but still i was not able to invoke applet's method using the name i use for the embed tag...the reason i found is,
"netscape doesn't recognise that there is an applet in EMBED tag while IE does reconginize that there is an applet in the code if we have applet in OBJECT tag".
u can confirm this by using javascript's method,
document.applets.length..
regards
maulin
