I am planning to give SCJP 1.5. I am an experienced Java programmer but never worked on Java5. I am refering to SCJP Exam Study Guide by Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates. Will this book alone help me score in the exam or do I need to refer to other books as well.

It is almost certainly possible to pass the exam with that book alone, but you are well advised to get hold of some other books to give yourself some additional background understanding.

Try this one too:

Java 5.0 Tiger: A Developer's Notebook By David Flanagan, Brett McLaughlin

You will find this book really useful if you are an experienced programmer as it straightaway digs into the new features of Java 5. Remember this book may not be comprehensive as it is not targeting the SCJP exams.
