On page 362 of Java Servlet Programming by Jason Hunter (the 2nd edition) it says applets can receive RMI callbacks from the web server (servlet).
I believe this is the only way to perform a callback. SOAP cannot do callbacks -- correct?
In the first edition of his book I believe he said you make RMI use PORT 80 but I can find no mention of this in the second edition. Unfortunately, I no longer have the first edition.
Does Applet-Servlet RMI happen on Port 80 and therefor works with Firewalls?
Where is this Applet-Servlet RMI documented, anyhow?
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
