Hello
I'm using an applet which connects to the server via SOAP, and I have to pass the proxy server name to SOAP when initializing the connection.
This works fine when I hardcode the proxy, but my real problem is to dynamically retrieve the browser proxy settings in the applet code.
- in java applications, I know that you have to set http.proxyHost and http.proxyPort properties to enable proxying.
- in java applets, I've been told that this was done automatically (as the plugin automatically detects the browser settings). But I checked: these http.proxyHost properties are not set automatically. Why? How can I get the proxy name ?
I'm using a signed applet with IE6, Sun java plugin 1.4.1 (set to detect browser proxy settings).
Thank you for your help.
