This is sort of linked to Applets anyway. Whenever I try to opena webpage with an applet on it Internet Explorer 6 crashes on me.
Is this something to do with the Virtual machine and how do I fix it?
Thanks

I dunno. Do ALL applets crash, or just the one(s) interesting to you? I've had similar problems with Mozilla, but that was because of bad JVM installation, Under Windows, such things aren't supposed to happen.
If you haven't updated the JVM in the last 3 week or so, Microsoft has a new one for you. I know this will come as a shock, but the last half-dozen or so all had security problems.

If you had compiled your java file with latest JDK (say 1.4x) and opened it with out plugin installed in the browser, you might hit the situation.
Workaround is either you have to compile in lower version or update your browser with latest plugin.
