Dear All,
I am facing a problem in running audio (.mid) file from Applet.
It is a very simple applet, nothing complicated in it.
I am trying this in IE (Internet Explorer). At few computers this applet is playing the
midi perfectly. In some computers it is not played at all. In some computers,
browser is not able to load this applet.
I have j2sdk1.4.1 at my computer & compiled it on this version. But again to be
doubly sure I have compiled it in j2sdk1.3.1.
Now what happens, browsers on computers which have j2sdk1.4.1, are able to run
the applet & midi is played. But those who have lower java vesrions are not
able to run it, inspite of having the same browse (IE 5.0 or IE 5.5).
Some browser (IE) shows null pointer exception or unable to load applet.
Does running of applet has anything to do with the system jdk/jre or it is the
browsers jre only which matters.
If i compile this applet in jdk1.2.2 etc, will it make any difference.
Netscape gives some error like bad version number etc.
In this applet, I am not using any jar or signed certificate etc. It is
very simple & small applet. It access the midi path through http://.
Can any one guide me what may be the probelm & what could be the solution.
Please help me out.........
Thanks,
Manoj
