Hello,
Is it possible to read entries from a process table of the destop on which my applet is running? If so, can I find all the files opened by a process?
- OR -
For a given file, is it possible to check of any process on the desktop has this file open?
Thanks in advance.
Bala.

Not through Java. You'll have to use JNI and a low-level API for the platform you're running on.
