I have been asked to use static versioning on my object tags to check for a specific version of java and if it does not exist download it. My question is how do I identify the classid for a specific java version so that I can put it in the object tag? I thought I could get it by looking at the registry on my machine (I am assuming a specific version will always install with the same classid on every machine), however I have found multiple classids in the registry on my machine that appear to point to the same version (ie. CAFEEFAC-0014-0002-0001-ABCDEFFEDCBA and CAFEEFAC-0014-0002-0001-ABCDEFFEDCBB). Does anyone know why there would be two and the only difference in the classid is that there is an 'A' at the end of one and a 'B' at the end of the other??? Any help would be appreciated.
