Hi all,
What does this mean in the Java Console Window?
/////
Java(TM) Plug-in: Version 1.4.1_01
Using JRE version 1.4.1_01 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
User home directory = C:\Documents and Settings\CC2711 Proxy Configuration: Manual Configuration
Proxy: http=jhbedgisap01.production.fr-prod.edcon.co.za:8080,https=jhbedgisap01.production.fr-prod.edcon.co.za:8080,ftp=jhbedgisap01.production.fr-prod.edcon.co.za:8080,gopher=jhbedgisap01.production.fr-prod.edcon.co.za:8080
Proxy Overrides: *.edgars.co.za,*.edcon.co.za,10.29.*.*,<local>

//////

This machine doesn't pull down the latest software from the server. Is that part of the piece above?

When you say 'Java Console Window', I assume you're refering to the one from the browser? Firstly this looks like an Applet and not a SErvlet question, so I'll move it over to the Applet forum. Hopefully you'll get a better response there.
I'm guessing your web access is working through a proxy, and the console is picking up these settings and reporting on it before trying to download the applet.
Is edcon.co.za the domin you connect from?
Dave
