Hi,

I have a problem. I run my applet with -D<SOME VARIABLE>=<Value>

but I am not able to access this variable from my applet it just simply return null.

The same thing I am able to access it through jsp's or EJB's but not via applets.

I went through a lot of info on the net. Although it says that there r security related issues thats the reason Applets cannot read all the properties using System.getProperty("somekey");

Now I really need this value and it has to come as a runtime enviornment variable as this applet is a part of a complete J2ee application which is packaged as EAR so using that env variable a lot of things happpen.

Since it is a part of a J2ee application and I am using weblogic I run the weblogic with the following java command inside startweblogic.cmd

"%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java" -hotspot -ms64m -mx64m -classpath "%CLASSPATH%"
-DRH_PATH=%RH_PATH%

RH_PATH is the env variable that I am trying to access.

Is there any solution to this.

I would highly appreciate a quick response as it is a little bit urgent.

:roll: You get what you pay for, and we're all volunteers.

Nonetheless, one passes parameters to applets through the APPLET tag.

Then inside the applet you can read the parameters in with Applet.getParameter()
