Hi Guys,

I have developed an applet which uses swings.

I use various swing components like :

import javax.swing.ImageIcon;
import javax.swing.JLabel;
import javax.swing.JPanel;
import javax.swing.JOptionPane;

when iu use the <embed> tag within the JSP and try to run the applet in netscape it works perfectly fine but when the same applet I run it using
<applet> tag for running it in IE it somehow gives an error saying
java.lang.classNotFoundException:javax.swing.JPanel.

Here r the 2 tags that i use for IE and Netscape

<EMBED type="application/x-java-applet;version=1.3" code="JTreeGridApplet.class" codebase="." archive="treegrid.jar" WIDTH = "785" HEIGHT = "377">
<NOEMBED>
</NOEMBED>
</EMBED>

<APPLET code="JTreeGridApplet.class" codebase="." archive="treegrid.jar" align="baseline" width="200" height="200" alt="No Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition v 1.4.2 support for APPLET!!">
No Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition v 1.4.2 support for APPLET!!
</APPLET>

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

You probably don't have the Java Plug-in set as your default runtime. Go to your Windows Control Panel, click on the Java Plug-In control, click on the "Browser" tab and make sure that IE is checked.
