Writing to Client file using Applet

Hi people
I need to wite an Applet which should be able to save some information at Client side
Is there any way to do it.
I shouldn't use security policy or signatures

Can't be done. The applet security model, called the "sandbox", protects the client computer from malicious applets. If there were a way around it, applets wouldn't be very secure, would they?

I have another question about this topic.

How about the read the file in client side?
Do I still have to go through the security stuff??
