Hello all,

I am working with a chat applet in my organization (200 employees). I need to show the recepients image picture in each Message box. For this i have done the following :
1. Applet is signed
2. My applet invokes a servlet in such a format ("http://MyHosetIP/ImageServlet?EmpId=123).
Here the value 123 keeps chaning depending on the EmployeeId. This servlet returns the image which is interun stored in the HardDisk so that next time i need not call the servlet to get an img which is already presnet on my harddisk, and i can just get the image from the harddisk.

Everything is working fine except the following:
1. It is noticed that in some machines certain images are not downloaded (this happens randomly.. and this is not with any few particular images.. its juz random)
2. This is more profoundedly noticed on WindowsXP machines.

What could the problem be?

Thanks,

Saj

Applet.getImage() returns immediately and images are loaded in the background. It not uncommon to try to display an image that isn't loaded yet and get nothing. Use a MediaTracker to make sure the images are loaded before you try to display them.
