Applet + Access problems

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Hi all, i am trying to connect an Applet to an Access 2003
dataBase over WinXP, but for reasons of security i am not
capable to do that " Win is not allowing me to connect", is there
any things that i must do, in the Win configuration or in my Java
code for my applet to work.
Thx, Omar

That depends on how you are trying to connect to your database. If you are trying to use the JDBC ODBC bridge, check the JDBC FAQ:

3. Can the JDBC-ODBC Bridge be used with applets?
Use of the JDBC-ODBC bridge from an untrusted applet running in a browser, such as Netscape Navigator, isn't allowed.

For this reason and because applets can't contact hosts other than the one they were downloaded from, it is common to wrap a database with a connection layer like a servlet.
It wasn't my idea to go to some crazy nightclub in the middle of nowhere. I just wanted to stay home and cuddle with this tiny ad:
